The Bloomingdale's Outlet is here!!!!!!!!!!!

So if you're like me, you have been counting down the months/days until we got our very own piece of the Bloomingdale's enterprise, right here in Dallas.  The first outlet location (it's the first of 5 locations to be opened in Texas) opened last Thursday at the Shops at Park Lane in Dallas. I waited until today to check it out, in an effort to avoid the crowds.  I actually had never been to a Bloomingdale's store, just shopped via their online site.  The store didn't disappoint...lots of big names such as D&G and Jimmy Choo, but also casual clothing brands such as Free People and James Perse.  Lots of J Brand and James Jeans- below are some colorful cropped jeans from J Brand (dying for the red pair, at $80, it's a pretty good deal). I also saw quite a few great pairs of Plenty by Tracy Reese shoes, that ranged from $40-$60 (love the brown pair below, which were $45). I ended up getting the "Little Laptop Case" sleeve for $18, too cute, I couldn't resist.

The Bloomingdale's chain touted that their merchandise is not "“old goods that are out of season,” ten percent to 40 percent of the items come from the full-price Bloomingdale’s stores, depending on the season and category." Read more of the Dallas News article.  Happy Shopping!

Spring Trend: Pastels

"So fresh and so clean" (singing a little Outkast in my head as I type)...I'm sure you have seen the pretty pastel colors hitting the stores/fashion mags for this Spring. I LOVE pastels, and I'm currently obsessed with the mint green color. It's light and crisp, and can be paired with a darker color such as black for an edgier look or try it with white or khaki for a more basic feel.  Either way, you're sure to be on trend and looking fabulous.  Below are some online picks, that are of course budget friendly. Stay fresh.

Wild for Wednesdays

Well I wasn't necessarily wild yesterday (not wild about leaving my comfy bed and going to work...), but I was trying to spruce the day up by putting on my cropped neon blazer.  I love the color and even better the price (got it at F21 for $20!) What I love about this outfit is the ease and comfort, as well as the great deal I got on all the items! I just got these new heels from Plato's Closet for a cool $14- they have minimal wear and snake skin print is always in style.

DVF on sale at the Outnet- up to 60% off!

I love me some DVF, there is always a gurantee when you buy an item that it will be chic and practical at the same time. Right now there is a great sale going on at The Outnet, with some great summer essentials on sale for a steal of a deal. With summer coming (and probably another scorcher...) I gravitated towards those items that would be perfect for the beach or pool visit. Enjoy!

Clog it to me!

So here we are again, me and my pal Jen getting similar type shoes at the same time and using this as an excuse to plan a day to wear our new shoes!  I recently got my Eli Tahari clogs via Rue La La at a steal of a deal ($40), while Jen just snagged hers at Buffalo Exchange for a cool $20.  Upon receiving my new clogs, I was left wondering if I could find anything to wear with them...I've never owned a pair of clogs and wasn't quite sure how to rock them, so I went online in search of some ideas. I came across several blog posts and articles that featured clogs and creative ways to pair them with an outfit, the best site that had lots of great ideas was The Fashion Police . Now if only I could find out how to make these shoes a little more comfortable...maybe over time and wear they will not kill my feet :)

ASOS Mid-Season Sale

If you're struggling with how to freshen up your Spring wardrobe, an easy and less costly way is to update your accessories. One trend for Spring is definitely neon colored items, and as luck would have it, ASOS is having their mid-season sale with lots of great neon items at a great price. If you'll notice, all the items I've highlighted below are neon  pink (pink is one of my fav colors- and who doesn't like pink??), but there are other neon colored items.  I'm loving the watch, must have it!

Thrift Away at Dolly Python

Have you ever checked out Dolly Python resale shop in Dallas?? (please tell me you have, if not, go now!) We stopped in during lunch to check out the goods. I hadn't been in at least a few years, sad but true. They have too much too see during a lunch break, but I did manage to walk away with a lovely Turquoise necklace on a silver chain for a cool $18. They have lots of jewelry, clothing, great selection of cowboy boots, and other randomness.  I love that place, it feels like garage sale shopping at a really cool eclectic person's house!  See my pics below, some odd items but I like a little bit of "weirdness" in my life.

Have you been in Macy's lately? I never really go to big department stores, but I happened to be in Macy's picking up some makeup and decided to wander off into the Junior dept. to see if they had any good deals on  items that this 30yr. old could still rock.  I was pleasantly surprised to find some great items from the Material Girl line (Madonna's daughter's clothing line), and even better, most of it was on sale. Oh yeay!  I fell in love with this striped skirt, the colors are great and I liked the unique cut with the front being shorter than the back.  I also really liked this sheer blazer with the floral print (50% right now, a steal at $20).  There were several cropped tops, the hot pink one below with the feather print was super cute, and I loved the feminine bow details in the back- but alas, it was a little too "young" for me.  I decided on the plain pink color top with the cut-out details, I'm going to pair it with a pair of white jean shorts and LOTS of turquoise jewelry.  Best part, it was 50% and only $14!

Keepin' it Casual

Howdy folks! So you have to forgive me for missing in action these days, my full-time has kept me BUSY (and no I don't shop for a living...I wish!)  It's funny how when you become busy, whether in your professional life or your personal life, that the first thing to be sacrificed is yourself. For me, it's been not looking as fashionable as I'd hope (literally jumping out of bed still exhausted from the day before and picking something random to wear) and missing regular workouts at the gym.  But this past Fri, things seem to be slowing down at work (not much, but I can breathe), so look for more posts to come!
